The European Hornbeam is a moderate to rapid growing shade tree. With its oval shape and dark green dense foliage it makes for a great privacy screen or to put on the corner of a home or building to add an element of character. This tree needs to be in moist, well-drained soil.
In the fall the dark green foliage will turn to a green/yellow.
