The Princeton Elm is a medium to large shade tree. In Missouri, it typically occurs in low moist ground and along streams.
Princeton or American Elms are a great tree for a lawn or along a street. It is known to grow to about 70′. It has a dark green foliage that will turn to a yellow color in the fall. Small, green flowers appear in the spring and give way to single-seeded samaras in late May.
Growing in full sun, this species will tolerate a wide variety of soil types. Great street tree or a part of any landscape.
